What started as a wedding consult and a mutual love of Starbucks lead to Kristi and me wiping away tears at Amber and Josiah's wedding just less than a year later . It's not an understatement to say that we grew to truly adore this couple.
There is so much to love about this couple but what strikes us most is how much they fiercely love each other. And while that love is easily felt by any one around them, it's still a sweet , gentle kind of affection.
We watched Josiah fight the weather with his groomsman. All he wanted was for Amber to not have to worry about a thing on her wedding day.
We watched Amber as she anxiously and nervously counted down the minutes. " Tell him I said " hi" when you see him. " she said as we went to take his photos.
"I just know my heart will feel like it's beating out of my chest." and " We can get married in the rain. We can get married anywhere" Josiah said, eying a dark cloud threatening our direction . And I knew there was nothing more true. For they would get married in a cave or the top of a mountain with no one to see it but themselves. Indeed, they didn't need perfection. They needed 5:00 pm .
And at 5 pm , their closest family and friends watched them and we all held our breath at the sight. We all cried as we listened to vows written so poetically and raw . To them, it was only them. To us, it was only them.
This day, June 12th, ended just as it was supposed to. Two beautiful people married together, blowing bubbles with their guests , the beautiful Rocky Mountains as a back drop. Yes, just as it was supposed to.
Congratulations, Amber and Josiah. Cliche as it may sound, we were truly honored to be there .
