Stephanie and Shane {Wedding}

A pleasant surprise came a few months back when a dear friend of mine since our preteen years contacted me about photographing her sister-in-laws wedding. Jenny and I are both from a small rural area and it truly is an " everyone knows everyone " kind of place. So of course, I knew right away that she was talking about sweet Stephanie. While we weren't more than acquaintances while in school  because I was a few years ahead of her, her reputation of being kind and funny is known by many. I was so happy when we had their date open !

The day came full of sunshine with an almost cloudless blue sky. We spent the day with the Swartz/Edwards crowd laughing and , just as I knew it would be, we were welcomed in and felt right at home.

Stephanie and Shane said their "I do's" beneath a gazebo with the Colorado sun sinking behind the mountains and their friends and family around them. Their ceremony and venue was sprinkled with personal touches and mementos that represented Shane and Steph perfectly. She vowed to bait her own hook and he promised to put the toilet seat down . Together, they swore to never leave the others side.

We left the lovebirds dancing the night away , crowding the dance floor surrounded by those who mean the most to them . As Kristi and I drove home, we traded stories about things said or done and I was reminded how good it feels to be around " my people". Thank you , Mr. and Mrs. Edwards, for allowing us the privilege of photographing your day.
